What to expect from Audi at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show?

With the 2013 Frankfurt Motorshow, also known as IAA, just hours away it is a good time to speculate what we are going to be expecting from Audi!
In general, we can expect to see a new trend of vehicles leaning towards a more eco-conscious approach, with manufacturers pushing out new technologies to increase efficiency in their vehicles. That means the floors will be lined many hybrids as well as cars powered by alternative fuel sources such as hydrogen, electric, and possibly, even solar!

For the past week or so there have been rumors on the well known concept car, the Audi Quattro concept (debuted at the 2010 Paris Motorshow). At this years IAA, Audi will be releasing a follow up to this concept, named the "Sport Quattro". Sound familiar? It should because the name was used for the iconic, race-winning, 1983 Sport Quattro which dominated races like the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, a countless number of times! There's a twist. Unlike the legendary race car, which was powered by a 302HP, 258lbs. ft of torque, Straight 5, the latest generation to hit the floors at IAA is rumored to be packed with an electric motor as well as an internal combustion engine! The vehicle should produce a whooping 590 lb-ft. of Torque and 700HP with both the electric motor and the four liter, twin turbo engine working together! This astounding amount of power reflects lightning quick 0-60 times around 3.5 seconds, and a top speed of 189MPH! With Audi's focus on efficiency you'll be taken aback by the mileage it accomplishes... a groundbreaking, combined 94 MPG! Although all of this sounds like it's packing pounds onto the Sport Quattro, the main emphasis of this concept is lightweight construction, and weighing in at a mere 1,850KG this is definitely an industry first! Although it may not be packing the pounds, it is surely racking up a bill. Expect the car to cost somewhere around $250,000!

The 2015 Audi A8 boasts state-of-the-art technology!

Also expected to hit the floors of this years IAA are the 2015 Audi A8 Concept and the 2015 Audi A3 Cabriolet! You can read up on the Audi A3 Cabriolet by clicking on the name in the previous sentence. As for the 2015 A8, expect there to be subtle exterior changes. The A8's main focus will be to highlight the upcoming technologies that will be seen on future models! The 2015 A8 will be packed with state of the art technology such as Audi's new and improved, Matrix LED Lighting technology!
